It’s hard to believe but another entire year has passed us by. This time last year I swore I was going to write my first book, take up calligraphy, learn to play my guitar I’ve had for 10+ years, etc., etc. Although none of those things happened, I must say 2012 was an incredible year. I truly feel like I have grown more as a person and maybe, more importantly, learned more about myself, others and just plain old life in general.
With that, I’m very much looking forward to 2013 and some of the incredible things that lie ahead. ShopMySavannah.com will be getting a makeover this year, there are a few pretty awesome vacations in the works and I’m looking forward to a few more spa days this year! Haha.
One of the things I am most looking forward to this year is also one of the things I’m most terrified about – the 1,000 miles for 100 smiles challenge benefiting the American Cancer Society’s Camp Ukandu hosted by my dear friend Victoria over at VictoriaRuns.com! I’ve never been one to regularly work out. I’m more so the “randomly do a 20 minute workout video once a month” kinda of person. Well, that’s all going to change for 2013 because I’m all signed up to do 1,000 miles by December 31, 2013! Now, that’s not just running. Victoria created an equivalency chart so you can run, do yoga, spin, etc. and still rack up the miles which is great considering I don’t see myself running 1,000 miles this year. Each month our goal is to work out equal to 83.34 miles. If you reach your 83ish mile goal Victoria enters you into a monthly raffle for all sorts of goodies.
I can’t think of a better way to kick off the new year than participate in a year-long competition. I’ve always been a bit completive so I think this is the only way I would ever work out on a regular basis. It’s going to be awesome and I’m going to document the whole process right here on my blog! Now, don’t worry. We’re still here to talk fashion, sales and shopping in Savannah. This will just be a little something extra this year!
Well, tomorrow marks the first day of the competition and I’m letting YOU pick my first workout. That’s right. You choose what I will do to start this adventure. Just pick from one of the 4 choices below by commenting in the comment section. Voting will close at 10pm tonight!
